Bicyclist Dies Days After Hit-Run Crash In Maryland, Police Say

Police investigators in Anne Arundel County are seeking information after a 26-year-old bicyclist died on Wednesday nearly two weeks after being struck by a hit-and-run driver in Odenton.

Adriana Yeslendy Suarez Saavedra was riding her bicycle at approximately 5:30 a.m.. on Saturday, July 8 on Annapolis Road near Town Center Boulevard when a passerby found her and her bike in the roadway. 

The investigation determined the Odenton resident was struck crossing the bridge over the railroad tracks when she was hit by an unknown vehicle that sped away in an unknown direction.

Suarez Saavedra was rushed by the Anne Arundel Fire Department to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries, and she died 11 days later on Wednesday, July 19. 

The hit-and-run remains under investigation.
